Parliament[]
The Parliament consists of representatives, elected every year, from all twenty Districts of the nation, meaning every 100 people has a representative. The Parliament makes laws and decrees, however these must all be approved by the President. It is chaired by the President, who is elected by the Military High Command.
Council of Judges[]
The Council of Judges is the judicial branch of government, and puts criminals on trial. There are only two punishments: imprisonment for life or execution. Most people actually beg to be executed, as life in the Federal Prison is worse then death. The cells are 6 feet by 6 feet, with no windows, no bed, and no toilet. There is no canteen, but instead the guards give the prisoners the food through a slit in the wall. There are no bars on the door, and the only form of light are the small lights in the roof, which flicker constantly and break often. When one breaks, the guards cannot risk opening the door to fix it and letting the prisoner escape, so they instead press a special button which gasses the cell and kills the prisoner before they open the cell to fix the light. The food is often moldy, and there is barely any to go around. The guards are better trained than most members of the Militia, and are equipped with the only machine guns in the nation other than those used by the Presidential Guard which defends Castle Hadria.

Vindonian Defense Force[]
The Vindonian Defense Force is the ground force of the UFV. It consists solely of infantry and artillery, as well as a few commandos called Special Riflemen. The infantry are equipped with Mosin bolt-action rifles but because of the nation's low munitions stores, each soldier is only equipped with one magazine and is ordered to only shoot to kill. The Special Riflemen are equipped with AK-47s, but there are very few of them due to cost problems. The standard artillery is the Von Hadria-Class Light Artillery. Because of how expensive special artillery training is, most artillerymen have only received basic infantry training, and are therefore terrible shots.
History[]
Vindonia started as a monarchy called the Archduchy of Staltcheltz-Vindonia, but a smart and enigmatic general named Frederick von Hadria led a military coup against Archduke Leopold IV. The Archduke died in the opening battles, and his son, Prince Wilhelm, was crowned Archduke Wilhelm X. In the Palace Maximus in Staltcheltzstadt (the old capitol), he hid and led his army from the bunker underneath. This only made von Hadria seem like a better leader, as he piloted his own large tank (today on display in the Revolutionary Museum in Frederickstadt) and led the revolutionary offensive himself.
Eventually, the whole Vindonian region had been annexed by the rebels, but the Staltcheltz region was too well-defended to annex. So, the rebels used the nuclear bombs which they had stolen from the Royal Labs in Leopoldstadt (today known as Frederickstadt) and nuked Staltcheltz, turning it and most of Vindonia into a wasteland.
