The Prefecture of Hino is a nation made by Yintel on September 5, 2024, making it their fourth nation and third reroll in the game. Driven by nostalgia, Yintel created Hino as a means to rejoin the Politics and War community after nearly two years of absence. Unlike their previous three nations, Hino was not established with any specific objectives in mind, opting instead for a more laid-back approach, focusing instead on casual gameplay and meeting new people.

In its early days, the nation garnered a small reputation for its creative theme. Messages received varied from negative remarks like "Only virgins like you enjoy this type of anime" to playful comments such as "Who wants deer crackers?".

Hino is also infamous for its stringent pirate ideology, which is an informal tradition upheld by Yintel since they began playing in the game circa December 2020, notably influenced by the defunct alliance Black Skies' raiding policy. Like Duoland, the nation does not consider peace offers from raid targets, but unlike Duoland, Hino actively declares war on nations within alliances, disregarding any risk of being countered.

History[]

On September 5, 2024, at 12:20 am UST, exactly 1,385 days after the creation of Trexizia and 690 days since the deletion of Duoland, Yintel returned the game and established Hino.[8]

About forty minutes later, at 1:01 am UST, the nation applied to Samurai, where it still remains to this day.[8]

On September 10, at 12:40 pm UST, Yintel was manually verified as an independent player.[9]

As a member of Samurai's coalition with Camelot, Hino is currently engaged in a blitz raid on Arrgh and Rose, with the first raid taking place on November 1, 2024, 11:57 pm UST. Two days and thirteen hours into the conflict, the nation's net damages worth $29,063,660 against four Arrgh targets and $6,052,199 against four Rose targets.[10][11]

Nation Design[]

Hino's Nation Page 7.9

Hino's nation page, September 5, 2024.

The design elements of the nation are primarily derived from, or influenced by, the anime adaptation of My Deer Friend Nokotan (Japanese: しかのこのこのここしたんたん, Hepburn: Shikanoko Nokonoko Koshitantan).[8] The national flag features a silhouette of the anime's main protagonist, Noko Shikanoko, while the cover image depicts a scene from the anime's portrayal of Hino, Tokyo. Additionally, the cities within the nation are themed to align with the various settings depicted in the anime.

Factbook[]

Hino's factbook is largely factual, as most of it is taken from the Wikipedia page for Hino, Tokyo, to ensure accuracy. However, the military history section toward the bottom is inspired by a ongoing gag from My Deer Friend Nokotan.[12]

Hino is renowned for its large spending towards its deer army. Shika shika. They are unstoppable.

Scrapped Designs[]

Borås[]

Yintel initially intended their new nation to be themed around the city of Borås, due to a meme that went popular circa February 2022 nicknamed Bib[se] (Swedish: Bara i Borås, lit. Only in Borås), which is, in its core, the Swedish equivalent of the Only in Ohio meme. However, this idea was quickly abandoned when the game rejected the nation name due to the character "å", which is not part of the standard English alphabet.

Trexizia[]

Yintel considered having a theme similar or identical to that of their first nation Trexizia, however this idea was not given much thought as it was seen as uncreative and uninspired.

Tokyo[]

Minutes before settling on Hino as the nation's theme, Yintel considered basing it on Tokyo, specifically the version portrayed in the anime My Star (Japanese: 推しの子, Hepburn: Oshi no Ko). However, this concept was abandoned after realizing that many other nations were already themed around Tokyo and Japan in general.

Commemorative Designs[]

Similar to how their previous nations adopted new themes and designs based on that of their predecessors (e.g. Duoland putting up Trexizia and Satellite State themed design assets on the day they were created/quit), and other holidays, Yintel has set specific dates to commemorate all three of their defunct nations, holidays, and others. In the roleplay aspect, these days function as Hino's national holidays. The dates are as follows:

Date Frequency Duration Significance Next Occurence
November 20 Yearly 7 days Yintel first joined as Trexizia on this day in 2020. November 20, 2024
November 27 Yearly 30 days Christmas season. November 27, 2024
January 10 Yearly 10 days Rainbow founded the Pizza Kingdom on this day in 2021.[13] January 10, 2025
February 27 Yearly 7 days Duoland was created on this day in 2022. February 27, 2025
April 1 Yearly Varies April fools. April 1, 2025
October 13 Yearly 7 days Satellite State was created on this day in 2021. October 13, 2025

Satellite State Themed Assets[]

Hino-Satellite State

Hino's black and white flag, October 13, 2024.

On October 13, 2024, Hino's nation page was revamped to introduce new lazy, black-and-white images to mark three years after Satellite State's creation, continuing a tradition of celebrating prior nations upheld since Duoland in June 2022.[citation needed]

From October 13 to 20, the custom images on the nation page, such as the leader portrait, nation cover, military images, and so on, featured black-and-white scribbles, invisible PNGs, and references to Tiktok trends from fall of 2021, specifically Gogy Wogy and Oh No, Our Table, It's Broken, following the cringe, lazy theme of Yintel's first reroll.

Lack of Documentation (2024)[]

Yintel saves a snapshot of their current nation on the Wayback Machine on a regular basis, or if a noteworthy occasion occurs, in order to preserve the information about their nation at that time as a reference or remembrance. However, because the website experienced DDoS attacks from hackers and recovered from those attacks[14][15] during the same week Hino's Satellite State theme was implemented, snapshot saving was briefly disabled, thus the theme was not saved on the Wayback Machine in 2024.

Other Flags[]

HinoSecondFlag

Hino's second flag.

Hino previously adopted two flags before selecting its current standard. The first was the default Swedish flag, and the second depicted a scene from My Deer Friend Nokotan, in which the protagonist, Noko Shikanoko, is shown laying down on her side while eating deer crackers. The latter was replaced by the current, standard, and third flag around 04:00 pm UST.

Rerolls and Other Affiliations[]

Trexizia[]

Main article: The Democratic Republic of Trexizia

Trexizia, founded by Yintel in November 2020, was a originally a roleplay nation in Politics and War. Initially known for its detailed lore, it later prioritized military and economic growth. Trexizia joined various alliances, including Black Skies, Carthago, and the Asylum of The Phoenix. The nation slowly became inactive and entered vacation mode in mid-2021. After Trexizia’s deletion in 2022, Yintel created Duoland under the same account.

Satellite State[]

Main article: Satellite State

Satellite State, Yintel's second nation in Politics and War, was created in October 2021 under the alias "Conrad". Initially designed to conceal its owner, it evolved into a profitable raiding nation, briefly becoming a top 14 war profit nation globally. It joined Space Invaders and Black Skies as it rebranded into Thunderstruck, before going inactive in January 2022, and being deleted a month later. Conrad's fake persona helped hide the true identity of Satellite State’s owner, leaving limited documentation of its activities.

Duoland[]

Main article: Duoland

Duoland, Yintel's third nation in Politics and War, was created in February 2022, following the deletion of Trexizia and Satellite State. The nation avoided community affairs and focused on attacking nations not in alliances with minimal military forces. After joining Waffle House and later The Coven, Duoland fought in several wars before being deleted in October 2022 due to alliance rejections. Its theme was based on Duolingo, with city names in various languages and a Duolingo-inspired design. Despite claiming to quit forever, Yintel returned to the game with Hino 690 days later.

Comparison[]

As the player behind the nation, Yintel, had been part of several alliances between 2020 and 2022, they adopted strategies from various now-defunct alliances. Hino currently works on these, growing quickly and setting remarkable raiding records, including looting over $250,000,000 within its first ten days, and ranking among the top 25 nations with the highest war profits in the week globally.[16]

By Alliance[]

From Black Skies (as Trexizia)[]
  • Pirate Policy,
  • War preparedness,
  • Econ-build IA management, and
  • Underdog resilience.
From Space Invaders (as Satellite State)[]

According to the Space Invaders Raiding Guide and E404 City Guide:

  • Have 5 raid wars ongoing at all times,
  • Strategic target selection,
  • Prioritizing profit over winning wars,
  • Raider-build IA management, and
  • Not building past 7 cities (As raiding becomes more difficult past that).
From Waffle House (as Duoland)[]

Based on the Waffle House Basic Raid Guide and Waffle House Nation Development Program:

  • Apply all knowledge above,
  • Put raid profit towards savings,
  • Work towards building more cities and,
  • Receiving aid from the alliance when necessary.

By Nation[]

To compare how Hino differs from its predecessors, below is a table summarizing Yintel's game approach in each of their past four nations.

Hino (Current) Duoland Satellite State Trexizia
Days existed - 232 days (109 days excluding VM). 87 days. 463 days (208 days excluding VM).
Raiding Staggered schedule; 3 wars are declared every 2 days to not be limited to having to find good targets in a single turn. Regular schedule; New cycle of 5 offensive wars begins every 2 days. Regular schedule; New cycle of 5 offensive wars begins every 2 days. Not done regularly.
City Management 5/5/5/3; subject to change as city count increases. All civil + Stadiums + 5/5/5/3. All civil + commerce + 5/5/5/3. All civil + commerce + 5/5/5/3.
War Strategy - Max warchest + military (to prepare for 14-day blockade). None, as C5 nations do not often get countered or involved in great wars. Take orders from MA leaders in the alliance.
Overall Goal None in particular. To reach a high city count, get rich by all means possible, and annoy people. To get rich by all means possible. To reach a high city count and become an established figure in the game.
Reason for Creation A feeling of nostalgia for the game. After deleting Satellite State, Yintel wanted to return to normal gameplay. After creating a Discord alt account, Yintel wanted to see if anyone would notice a nation running on the same network as Trexizia, which was on vacation mode. The Drew Durnil video made about Politics and War.
Roleplay Aspect Based on My Deer Friend Nokotan. Almost everything in the nation is a reference to the anime. Based on Duolingo. Almost everything in the nation is a reference to it. A fake identity accompanied with a lazily made nation design. A new nation created as a result of a hypothetical breakup of the United States due to its polarized political climate.
