The Socialist Republic of Gavastek was founded in 1946 following the Winter Solstice Socialist's Revolution, but the History of the Garlendan People goes back much farther.

The land in which The DSRGP is inhabited has been occupied by the Gibrantin and Seplotik ethnic groups since at least the 10th Century BCE. The two groups lived mostly under the governance of foreign force for a large portion of its history. by the mid 18th century, the two groups, now under the one territory of Garlendovst, was under the direct control of the Russian Empire. But, by the early 1780's, The People of Garlendovst grew tired of constant Russian overlook and influence. In the spring of 1784, the situation reached a boiling point, and the citizens fought back with the Krelklov Revolution. By 1789, the revolution was over and the Gibrantin and Seplotik peoples once again had their independence. By 1793, The Greater Treaties Act of the Primis and the Peoples was instated into accepted law, and officially began The United Garlendovst's Republic of Gibrantin and Siplotik (later mentioned as The First Garlendan Republic). This government operated in relative peace until a series of bad harvests and a smallpox epidemic, where there was the Koventik Revolution of 1878, in which a mob of Seplotik Nationalists stormed the central governance building in the then-Capitol of Visselgrad, and kidnapped President Ivar Nevalninsky. The Seplotik Nationalists later tried many government officials on counts of treason and corruption. In total, 373 people were tried, and 312 were found guilty. A further 209 were later served death sentences, but only 58 were carried out with. It has long been proven that almost all of the trials were staged. However, the former President was later acquitted of all charges. Formed out of much controversy and questionability, The National Constitution of The Sovereign Seplotik and Gibrantin People empowered The Seplotik and Gibrantin Garlendan Republic (later referred to as The Second Garlendan Republic). This governance would unfortunately be the most oppressive of the three regimes that ruled the country. The Second Garlendan Republic was a riddle of Nationalist dictators and military presidents. The legislature was merely a veil of legitimacy, when in reality it was all a puppet for the nationalist dictators. This continued on for many decades until the the rising socialist movement captured the country back from the military and the nationalist President Igor Chechkovskolikov. The Winter Solstice Socialist Revolution (1946) occurred in Balkashivka (Capitol of The Second Garlendan Republic), and officially seceded the government over from the nationalist military leadership, into the hands of the socialist movement. The Constitutional Conferences eventually -after years of debate- created The Articles of The People of The Garlendan Isles and its Governance. This established an executive council to limit the power of a single person, and established a Desmatrovian government with an upper and lower legislature to protect the interests of the people, and protect the government from corruption. And so, finally, the socialist movement proclaimed, in 1948, The Desmatrovian Social Republic of The Garlendan People (referred to as DSRGP or Third Garlendan Republic). Since then, the DSRGP has been very stable, mind a problem with the Russian-backed rebel group called sound, and its leader Dmitry Yevenchko. But, this is no longer a problem since the capture of the "sound" leaders, and imprisonment of Yevenchko. In the past 40 years, The DSRGP has grown closer ties to Sweden, and is currently headed by the administration of Head Councilman August Lindgren (Government), and Anna Ahlgren (State).
