The Ampersand (&) was a blue alliance founded on Fenbuary 10, 2020 as a rebrand of Sanreizan. The Ampersand is a continuation of R&R from CyberNations and a founding member of a bloc called Mystery Inc.
The rebrand to The Ampersand happened in early 2020 around the same time that The Ampersand became a founding member of The Swamp. Most of 2020 remained quiet due to the 6 month NAP signed at the end of NPO's Last Time
which Sanzerian fought in. The first major event for The Ampersand happened when The Swamp and Hedge Blocs attacked The Commonwealth Sphere in the Ten Day War. This war ended as most wars do when the aggressor has supperior numbers: an immense triumph. Later on October 30, 2020, the Quack Sphere attacked The Swamp causing another global war, Duck Hunt. This war ended as a win. Following the leaks of The Swamps OPSEC chats, The Ampersand issued it cancellation of membership with The Swamp on May 1, 2021. Before the 72 hour cancellation was up some of the members of Quack Sphere attacked Swamp, involving the Ampersand. This war(The Last Ride) stretched on for most of May and ended in defeat. Not long after the end of this war Ampersand signed with a new bloc, Mystery Incorporated. Peace would remain until the big MysOasis bloc treaty in December 2021 and The Ampersand got rolled by Clock and Blackwater along with its allies. On January 31, 2022, The Ampersand would merge with Ikea, to form Bourbon Street and leave Mystery Inc.
R&R[]
The Ampersand considers itself a successor to R&R, an alliance first founded in CyberNations. While R&R made several appearances throughout the history of Orbis, members from the second R&R, including most of its high government, merged into Bad Company, eventually making its way to its current name and theme. As is evident, the flag of The Ampersand is a modified version of the original R&R flag, and the alliance continues to employ R&R motifs in its theme, such as its colors and the use of the "2IC" title. The name is often disputed with an alliance called Respublica Romana, who claims to be the true R&R despite not having as many former R&R high government members. The two alliances still occassionally dispute it to this day.
