SomaliaArrgh Hostage Crisis is a series of Arrgh! attacks initiated on the 24th of September, 2022, targeted against seven staff members (journalists) of the Discord P&W news channel the Observer. Upon the launch of the first attacks against the journalists, Arrgh! made a public announcement, claiming the capture of all the journalists and demanding a ransom to be paid to release the captives.

The majority of the journalists are spread between the allied alliances Serene Repubblica Fiorentina (SRF) and The Almighty Corporation (ALMC), whereas one journalist is a member of the alliance Borgs Assisted Loot Liberation Service (BALLS), which remains paperless. Arrgh's attack on a BALLS member, lead to several wars being declared on Arrgh in retaliation, leading to a slight escalation of the conflict. The rest of the belligerent alliance (SRF and ALMC) negotiated peace with Arrgh on the 25th of September, and paid an unspecified amount in ransom for the "release" of their members and the end of hostilities.

The war between BALLS and Arrgh was negotiated to a close on the 21st of October, with a general peace out after Arrgh's ransom demands had been met by BALLS.

The last war between members was finally peaced out on October 24. The delay was caused by Borg taking advance of Arrgh members filling up his defensive slots.

Leaks from the Observer[]

In the week leading up to the war, an alleged leak of an Arrgh announcement was spread on the Observer discord channel: That Arrgh planned to join The Way the Cookie Crumbles.

The leak ended up being false, with Arrgh attacking the USSR instead, being the start of the war; Perpetually Paperless.

At the same time, Arrgh would also attack multiple staff members of the Observer, demanding 2 billion in reparations for the leaks.
