Sino-Soviet War[]
The Sino-Soviet war (February 8 2092- March 27 2092), also known as the East Asia war (in Eastern India) was a military conflict that took place in Central Asia, East Asia, South China Sea, Pacific Ocean and Central America. It was fought between the belligerents Soviet Federation, Japanese Isles and Hainan and their respective allies from February 8, 2092 to March 27, 2092, Lasting for 48 days.
The conflict began with the Soviet Federation in advantage with preparations at the borders with Hainan in Central Asia, and on the first day war was declared several missile strikes hit the Chinese soil, damaging key logistical infrastructure in northwestern Hainan. As the days followed, the Japanese Isles took advantage of a weakened and busy Hainan in the west to declare war too. Although not being an ally of the Soviet Federation, nor agreeing with Moscow's foreign policy. It is considered by some geopolitical analysts to be a kind of “temporary, informal and unwanted alliance”. However, it lasted for a very little time and ended as soon as Hainan peaced out Japanese Isles and ended war in the east.
As minor fighters were picking sides in favor of Hainan or the Soviet Federation, the war got bloodier and bloodier, with thousands of deaths being counted by both sides in the tough terrain of Mongolia and Central Asia or the dangerous seas of East Asia's coast.
Eventually, Hainan managed to get to Soviet Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan by using tactics of mass conscription, viable due to the immense continental population of China. However, these territorial advances were quickly reverted as the few skilled soldiers of Hainan ended dead or injured in a punishing terrain. Added to the Soviets, who were entrenched and having key positions that gave Moscow strategical advantages against Hainan's poorly equipped military.
In the late phase of the war, Hainan's military superiors started to give almost suicidal orders to the country's seemingly infinite manpower pool, "throwing inexperienced soldiers into mountains" in a desperate attempt to counter Soviet's noisy boots on the ground's footsteps crossing Mongolia.
With the undeniable technological superiority, Soviet Federation and company would eventually reclaim all of Central Asia and press Chun Lu to give up and peace, with a deteriorated Hainan in a new economic crisis, this was just a matter of time. And in the 27 of March, peace is signed in a defeat to Hainan.
This war proved consequential for Hainan, which collapsed days after the war as a result of internal revolts and declaration of independence by Tibet and East Turkestan.
Background[]
Soviet Perspective[]
In a Kremlin's perspective, Hainan was showing signs of aggression towards Asia and sometimes "the world", attempting to "build an empire" and "become a superpower".
Other justifications coming from Moscow's headquarters claimed that Soviet Federation was feeling threatened by Hainan because of spying and troops movement on the borders, which has been demystified by Dauchh Palki.
Colonialism as a factor[]
Some historians say that colonialism could also be a factor, since Soviet Federation claimed in the war declaration: "The Soviet flag will fly above Beijing once again", which could also be a revenge feeling caused by the wars against Dreamistan in the past. Not only that, but the end to the war led to the establishment of various overseas colonies around the coast of China, further legitimizing their assumptions.
Hainanese Perspective[]
Hainanese historians refer this war to be an unjust one, which was motivated with colonialism and looting.
The Leader of Hainan, after defeat in the Pacific had made a public statement that blamed an 'international conspiracy' and pointed out 14 reasons that the 'imperialists' used in order to justify their war, affirming them as either false or unjust:
1# To get Land;
2# To weaken Hainan;
3# To disband the CSO;
4# Because we don't want a border with Hainan;
5# To create a buffer in Xinjiang;
6# To give Tibet to Kashmir;
7# Because Hainan "threatened" us;
8# To liberate Mongolia;
9# To destroy the regime of Hainan (While clarifying they were a democracy and attempting to discredit Soviet Federation, pointing out that they are a one party state);
10# Because Hainan is a threat to Orbis;
11# They are planning to take over Asia;
12# All they want is land;
13# To make space for new player (While presenting a map of Soviet Federation, which suggested Soviet Federation was far bigger than Hainan);
14# It's not a war, it's a special military operation (clarifying that Soviet Federation's war is unjust as there was no official declaration of war by Soviet Federation).
Hainan had refuted all accusations of war crimes, and claimed that it was their opponents who were committing war crimes against Hainan, directly pointing out Soviet Federation.
The War[]
Beginning of the war[]
Soviet Offensive[]
On 8th February 2092, three days after mobilisation at the Sino-Soviet Border, Soviet Federation launched an offensive of 19 Missile strikes in Kashgar, Aksu, Ili, Karemy, Tacheng and Altay. A thermobaric Bomb was also launched at Kashgar, Killing and Injuring many innocent civillians. With that ensures heavy shelling in the borders of Hainan and Soviet Federation.
As a result of the war, Beanstopia declares solidarity with Hainan the same day, and starts sending resources and military personnel to Hainan mainland to aid the ally after invocation of ODCA Article V.
Japanese Isles enters the War[]
On 9th February 2092, with an hastily made parliamentary resolution with 134 ayes to 121 no, Japan declared war on Hainan and started making large defensive positions in Taiwan and Korea and attacking Hainan with missiles and coastal bombardment and conducting naval assaults in Chinese Philippines colony.
A more technologically advanced navy of the Japanese Isles Naval Force led to heavy casualties for the Hainan Navy, initiating naval battles at Xiafeng Bay and Yellow Sea.
