Pericoa, officially the Pacific Republic of Pericoa is a country located on South America, but really on Central America. The official capital of the nation is Otato.
Etymology[]
Pericoa originally started off as a group of tribes, with the two biggest ones being the Peri and the Coan. The two intermingled and formed the ethnic group that predominantly inhabits Pericoa nowadays, the Pericoan. Therefore, the most popular and widely accepted theory as to where the name Pericoa came from is from these two tribes' names.
History[]
Pre-Founding[]
The territory encompassing present-day Pericoa was originally inhabited by two big tribes known as the Peri tribes and the Coan tribes. The two tribes intermixed to create the now abundant Pericoan ethnic group. Oddly enough, decades after this happened, East Asians began to flock in and breed with the Pericoans to make a new ethnic group named the Aldeans. The Pericoans and the Aldeans would have a few clashes and skirmishes here and there. They would eventually unite and create the new nation known as Pericoa.
Founding[]
May 29, 2022 marks the date on which Pericoa was founded as a nation. The community appointed Ocram as the nation's Tacico (meaning leader in the Pericoan language). The nation established a democratic republic as its government.
Demographics[]
Pericoa has a demographic quite interesting. Many ethnic groups inhabit the country, but they all come to one conclusion that they are Pericoan.
Ethnicity[]
During the pre-founding, many tribes made up the present Pericoan territory. Many have died out, or have mixed with each other to create an all new ethnic group. Two of these tribes were the Peris and the Coans. The biggest ethnic group to date in the country are the Pericoans, which descent from these two tribes. Although other ethnic groups still make up the country, the three most prominent ones are the Pericoans, Aldeans, and the East Asians. The Pericoans make up about 80.3%, the Aldeans make up about 12.6%, and the East Asians make up about 7.1% of the population. The country is quite homogenous as the Pericoans make more than three-quarters of the population.

Here you'll see a pie chart of Pericoa's ethnicities.
Pericoans[]
The Pericoans are the largest ethnic group in all of Pericoa. They were born from the Peri and Coan tribes long ago. They had a couple of clashes with other tribes in the area until eventually becoming the majority. That is why their influence is so big on the small nation.
Aldeans[]
Though the Aldeans make up a good chunk of the population, they are quite unknown and rarely talked about as they live an isolated and secluded life. They were born after the Pericoans and the East Asians bred with each other and made a new ethnic group. They eventually branched out and made their own culture. It's unknown why they live such a solitary life. But they say that they do it to keep the peace.
East Asians[]
The East Asians came in to Pericoa in order to find new opportunity. Apparently it was nice in Asia, but according to the first East Asians that came here, they were simply bored. They came and made a name for themselves, especially after they created the new ethnicity alongside the Pericoans.
Language[]

Here you'll see a pie chart of Pericoa's languages by native speakers.
Language has always been a subject of debate within the people of the nation. It's been a controversial matter even before the founding of the country as it predates to the original tribes. These tribes eventually found a way to construct a new language called Pericoan. To this day, it remains the country's official language. But two other languages make the minority, Spanish and, oddly enough, Nauruan. Pericoan makes up about 95.2%, Spanish makes up about 3.4%, and Nauruan makes up about 1.4% of the population's native language and mother tongue.
Pericoan[]
Pericoan was a language completely unintelligible to any other language out there. It was constructed by the Pericoan tribes. There were no known relatives of this language out there, until the tribes found out it was almost the exact same as Spanish, with their own little lingo to it.
Spanish[]
Spanish was eventually brought to the country by foreigners. It is almost completely intelligible to a native Pericoan speaker, except it has its own twists to it. Attempts were made to expand its influence, but failed as it never caught up with the Pericoans. The country still has a small minority speaking the language to this day.
Nauruan[]
The incredibly small language Nauruan funnily enough is spoken in Pericoa. During the pre-founding, there happened to be a flock of Nauruans coming in from Nauru. No one knows why they came here, but people say they mysteriously came here and then suddenly disappeared. A very small portion of the population speaks Nauruan nowadays.
Religion[]
At the moment, the information about religion in the country has remained undisclosed and classified. The government has not yet done a census on the people's faith.
The Flag[]
The Pericoan flag is a simple, yet unique flag with meaning. The sun and the moon on the flag represent the two tribes that essentially made the nation, the Peri and the Coan. You will also come to find that the colors on the flag all have meanings to them. The blue wave represents the Pacific Ocean that the country borders. The green represents Pericoa's land. The yellow on the sun and the moon represents prosperity. And the white sky represents peace and hope.
