Knights Templar is an alliance founded on February 1, 2017. It was one of three splinter alliances to come from Terminus Est (alongside Western Union and Cobra Kai Dojo). On September 19, 2021, the alliance would merge with Paragon (2nd) to form The Hand of Fate. On April 9, 2023, HoF would rebrand back to Knights Templar.

History

Knights Templar had been in the planning since early November of 2016 when Odin messaged Thalmor about the idea. The alliance was founded on February 1st, right in the middle of the SK-TEst War. In exchange for peace, KT members agreed to leave TEst and go to Pantheon's applicants.

Upon being founded, Knights Templar gradually grew to over 100 active members by May 5th. During that time, it remained neutral during The Trail of Tiers. KT's lower-tier did experience some combat during the Animal Control Crusade, however.

Thalmor resigned as Grand Master on November 17, 2017, handing down the title to Theodosius (formerly known as Apollo). This was the first time in KT's history that the head leadership position had changed.

After being on the winning side of some minor wars (Oblivion-Zeon War and Kastor's Karma War), the Knights Templar had their first real test in the Ayyslamic Crusade. As the only alliance hit in The Inquisition's initial blitz, KT's entire mid-tier had their military wiped and was in result pinned down for the remainder of the war. It fought back using pirate tactics, while the upper tier welcomed the United Purple Nations' declaration of war to get some action as well. At the end of the war, KT still managed to boast a slightly positive net damage in the war stats.

After the Ayyslamic Crusade, Knights Templar decided to pursue a new political path and altered their foreign policy, aligning themselves with The Golden Horde.

Knights Templar participated in the second-longest Orbis conflict in its history, Dance Dance Revolution, more commonly known as 69 Day War. After initially being blitzed along with their allies in TGH, Knights Templar has mostly fought with guerrilla tactics for the entirety of the war, which eventually proved successful, causing KT/TGH to partially close the damage gap with their enemies.

Theodosius retired as Grand Master on August 18th, 2018, after serving 9 months at the helm of the alliance, conveniently matching his predecessor's time in office. Previously serving as Grand Chancellor, Keegoz was chosen as his successor.

After a prolonged period of peace after the 69 Day War, Knightfall was initiated. Knights Templar and their allies in TGH watched on and rebuilt as the alliance they had not so long fought fell out of their top spot on the leader board. After the events of Knightfall, Grumpy Old Bastards, Empyrea, Oblivion, and Guardian would leave their respective coalitions behind and sign on with Knights Templar and TGH to form KETOGG. KETOGG would set its eyes on getting a piece of the actions against CHAOS (previously known as the TKRsphere). Thus setting the pieces in motion for Surf's Up.

On the 23rd day of Surf's Up an immediate ceasefire and white peace occurred when a member of The Commonwealth leaked plans from the previous month. These plans detailed that the previous alliances of IQsphere, which was believed to have disbanded after Knightfall, planned to collectively hit CHAOS and KETOGG. These plans were, however, interrupted by the events of Surf's Up. As a result CHAOS and KETOGG mutually agreed to pre-preemptively attack Black Knights (now known as The Covenant) in hopes of winning, to them, what was now a seemingly unavoidable war. So NPO's Last Time (also known as The Dial-Up War) began.

The global conflict became more heated (especially on the forums) when a week into the war N$O (previously known as The Syndicate and New Pacific Order) joined the fray. On November 2nd, 2019, leaders of KERTCHOGG and t$Sphere formally announced their acceptance of the first condition set by Coalition B (Memesphere) to officially open up peace talks. These talks went on for weeks, with persistent delays and frustrations for members from both Coalitions. A formal statement and case made by Partisan (a representative from t$) on the forums asserted that the negotiators of Coalition B had been deliberately stalling peace talks to continue the war, and thus, peace talks fell through officially on November 20th, 2019.

The end of the peace talks was followed up by a series of forum posts and leaks regarding the attitudes and plans of Coalition B leaders and negotiators for the remainder of the war. These posts reinforced the earlier narrative that Coalition B leaders and negotiators were attempting to draw out the war long enough so that Coalition A alliances would decide to disband. Suddenly, the perceived threat of what was dubbed IQ 2.0 increased dramatically among Coalition A government and alliance members. This perceived threat lead to the disbanding of the Triumvirate of Knights Templar officially on December 5th, 2019 and the installment of Horsecock as the Grand Master. Denison was then placed in second in command as Grand Commander.

Keegoz and Theodosius left Knights Templar in their mission to combat IQ 2.0. Keegoz joined The Knights Radiant while Theodosius joined The Syndicate. For their service, they were given honorable pensions for their contribution to the alliance. A few months following the end of The Dial-Up War in which KT achieved the net damage record at the time of +$101 billion. After a successful crusading season following the war, Horsecock decided to pass on the reigns of leadership to Denison. Through their resignations from Knight Templar, in addition to the culling of inactive, dead, or otherwise non-taxable farming players, a new age for the Knights Templar began.

During most of 2020, KT spent its time as a member in Hedge and participated in dogpile wars such as The Ten-Day War and Duck Hunt. These wars did not satisfy the Templars which is why Horsecock returned as co-leader alongside Denison at the start of 2021 and KT would form KECC. However, this bloc would fail and KT would be hit by Oasis in The NAPpening. Although outnumbered and hit while having high infra and low military, KT would be able to get a positive net damage at the end of the conflict.

After breaking free from KECC, KT started on a second crusading season. First was the WTF is KT doing conflict in which KT was able to take down all of Rose's allies before getting hit by Rose itself. The war would end in white peace and with Rosesphere footing a heavy bill. Next the Templars moved on towards hitting CAP in The Northern Crusade. KT was able to destroy all of CoA's allies and did not receive any retaliation from CoA or the rest of BlackWater. Due to the lack of response, KT would go on a mass raid against The Swamp in Floridian Missionary Work. KT would then spend the rest of the summer raiding billions and destroying infra.

Later on KT would start another crusading season. In KECC Reunion Party, KT would first hit The Legion and Chocolate Castle which were peripherals in two different spheres at the time. The Legion was hit for not being pro-active enough and CC was hit due to being an easy target and the existing OOC tension. After receiving no response from either sphere, KT would then blitz their former KECC allies, Eclipse and The Company. They were chosen as a target for farming all year and because of the failure of KECC. This war would then inadvertently cause a global war, Brawlywood, as Eclipse's sphere took too much damage to let the opportunity go to waste.

After raiding billions in the global war, KT decided to go back to farming and chose to merge with Paragon to create a powerhouse of an alliance with the government members that were able to support it. Unfortunately, it also meant that the KT name had to go; on September 19, 2021, the alliance would merge to form The Hand of Fate. A year and a half later, HoF members decided to vote on whether to return to the KT theme due to most of Paragon's membership no longer in HoF. With a vote of 31-0, KT would be resurrected with Ducc Zucc as Grand Master; on April 9, 2023, HoF would rebrand and a new generation of KT would begin.

Shortly after the rebrand, KT participated in the blitz and war against Fortuna (Eclipse & The Syndicate) alongside Florida (Rose, Paradise & Dark Brotherhood), ODOO (TKR, Cataclysm, Black Knights, Name Withheld, Mayhem & Bourbon Street), The Fighting Pacifists & House Stark. Only four days after KT posted their DoW against Fortuna, KT declared war on the Legion of Dawn (excluding their leader, RightHonarable) for the reason of Legion of Dawn not defending Midgard during Ragnarök therefore failing to honor their M level treaty. Their leader, RightHonarable, wanted to defend Midgard but was shot down by his gov, hence why KT excluded him from the blitz. Fourteen days later on the 14th of May, KT and LoD agreed to white peace. On the 1st of June peace was agreed between Fortuna and the coalition, with the name of the war becoming Darkest Hour.

During Darkest Hour, KT blitzed both World Task Force on the 21st of May and Skull & Bones on the 26th of May. KT never posted a DoW or a cb for either of these wars. KT dealt a combined total of $35.5B whilst only receiving $5.05B. KT peaced with World Task Force on the 30th of May (making the duration 10 days) and peaced with Skull & Bones the same day as Fortuna (1st of June) making the duration only 6 days. The two conflicts were named Erm... WTF (vs World Task Force) and Deer God! (vs Skull & Bones).

On the 18th of June and during rebuild from Darkest Hour, United Ummah blitzed KT with only nukes and no military whilst having no infra. UU had been building nukes since KT mass raided them last, two months before this conflict started. KT's allies Cataclysm and The Commonwealth defended KT through helping to spy UU's nukes. UU then also launched a few wars against them. UU's cb was that KT had declared a few wars against them in the last month. Despite UU having no infra & no military and KT having just rebuilt, UU received more damage (UU taking $12.9B in damage and KT taking $12B in damage). The war was peaced on the 6th of July, making the duration 19 days. KT then named the war War On Terror.

On the 26th of November, KT militarized in response to receiving intel that Singularity, The Cypher & Camelot were planning to all hit KT. A day after this on the 27th of November, KT upgraded Carthago from an ODoAP to MDoAP as well as signing Aurora (a member of SAIL) to an MDP. After successfully deterring Singularity from hitting KT due to KT's new allies, a NAP was agreed between SAIL, KT, CTO and Singularity, The Cypher, Camelot until January 2nd 2024.

On the 3rd of January 2024, straight after the NAP ended, SAIL (DOW) along with KT & CTO (DOW) and Singularity along with The Cypher & Camelot (DOW) blitzed each other at the same time. After the first day, SAIL, KT & CTO had beaten Singularity's coalition militarily. On January 9th, TFP was issued its 72h notice to leave their sphere, WELP, due to TFP planning to work with other alliances not part of WELP and then leave WELP to sign Singularity. Following this on the 13th of January (after the 72h period), KT & The Syndicate (T$ DOW) blitzed TFP. KT's reason for this was because TFP was planning with Singularity's sphere to hit KT.

During the war against Singularity & TFP, on the 1st of February, ODOO & Rosesphere (Rose, Guardian, Oblivion & Arkham Asylum) blitzed SAIL, KT & CTO with Singularity also joining ODOO & Rosesphere with a counter-blitz. ODOO's reason for this war was that they claimed Aurora's cb against Withheld in 2022 was inaccurate (the cb being hostile actions by CTO). This resulted in a strange situation where ODOO blitzed CTO with the cb of defending CTO's actions. Rosesphere's cb was against SAIL, accusing them of backroom dealings and hegemonic sphere creation (mocking the cb against Rose in Dodge This that The Syndicate had against them). 1 turn after the blitz, WEL (Eclipse, Weebunism & Legion of Dawn) blitzed Rosesphere in defense of KT (as Eclipse had an ODoAP with KT). WEL notably already had a NAP with ODOO. At the same time, KT launched a counter-blitz focusing against TKR. Only 24 hours after this all happened, peace was agreed between all parties- before anyone had even been beiged.
