Membership[]

Admission to the Knights Radiant[]

Any nation requesting admission to The Knights Radiant will post an application on the forum and also post an application in game. Established nations may opt out of the traditional application method in exchange for a Discord interview at the discretion of the King/Queen or the Herald of Internal Affairs.

Any applicant may be admitted by the King/Queen, the Herald of Internal Affairs, or an appointed designee. Any prospective member-state is expected to be free of active wars and not be on any enemy target lists at the time of the application. Applicants will not have multiple nations on their particular Unique ID which are not verified in-game. Member-states pledge to follow all rules and protocols of the Knights Radiant to continue membership.

Expulsion from the Knights Radiant[]

The King/Queen of Heralds may expel member-states he/she find unworthy of carrying the banner of The Knights Radiant. In the absence of the King/Queen, the Prince/Princess of the Heralds, or the Heralds with a majority vote, may remove a member if they have just reason to believe that member is an immediate threat to the alliance.

Government[]

Royalty[]

The Royalty of The Knights Radiant consists of the King/Queen and Prince/Princess. The Royalty lead the governing body and are responsible for the overall functioning of the alliance and ensuring that all departments are working cohesively together.

  • The King/Queen of the Heralds is the supreme leader of the Knights Radiant and makes final decisions in all matters pertaining to the direction of the alliance. It is the responsibility of the King/Queen to appoint the Heralds, the leaders of departments within the alliance, and approve their low gov members. Heralds serve only in the King/Queen's favor and may be removed and replaced at the discretion of the King/Queen. Should the King/Queen leave for any reason, a designated heir shall assume the duties. In the event of their absence, the King/Queen will set a guideline with the Prince/Princess and High Government for how decisions are to be made.
  • The Prince/Princess of the Heralds is the heir to the throne. Second in charge of the Knights Radiant, the Prince/Princess answers directly to the King/Queen. While he/she can be viewed as the King/Queen in training, he/she also assists with the daily running of the alliance. The Prince/Princess is not authorized to make any significant directional changes to the alliance (signing/cancelling treaties, removal/addition of government members, declaring wars, etc.) without the approval of the King/Queen or, in cases of emergency during which the King/Queen cannot be reached, the support of a majority vote from the Heralds.

High Government[]

The High Government consists of the Heralds and the Shards. The Heralds are the leaders of their respective departments, which consist of High Princes and Princesses, while the Shards are King/Queens Emeriti that serve as advisors to Royalty and High Government. While Heralds are encouraged to work together, especially on inter-departmental issues and programs, each Herald has the power to accept, expel, promote, and demote any Knight from and within their own Department and to create any programs/organizational structures he/she deem necessary with the approval of the King/Queen.

  • The Herald of War is the supreme commander of The Knights Radiant Armed Forces. The Herald's duty is to take any and all measures necessary to secure the safety and wellbeing of the alliance. The Herald of War is expected to establish and maintain a military structure which will allow for an efficient and active army and to ensure the information provided in the war guides is up to date and accurate. The Herald of War also, along with the other Heralds, oversees all resource assets belonging to the Knights Radiant and the member-states. The Herald of War may not declare war on another sovereign alliance without the expressed permission of the King/Queen. The Herald of War may also create any titles or organizations he deems necessary to fulfill his/her duties.
  • The Herald of Foreign Affairs is responsible for all diplomatic affairs and is expected to establish and maintain The Knights Radiant Diplomatic Corps. He/She will ensure the ambassadors of The Knights Radiant represent the goals and ideals of the alliance. It is their responsibility to negotiate all treaties and maintain relationships between The Knights Radiant and other foreign powers. This Herald will maintain Embassy Row by creating new embassies upon request, archiving inactive embassies, and ensuring foreign diplomats are properly identified. The Herald may employ those needed to fulfill the mission of foreign affairs.
  • The Herald of Internal Affairs is tasked with maintaining recruitment, activity, and standards for the alliance. This Herald, along with his/her appointed designee(s), facilitate the recruitment and acceptance of applicant nations to the Knights Radiant, mask applicants/members, and work to ensure their proper education. This Herald also maintains The Knights Radiant Academy, which applicants are required to attend unless an exemption is granted by him/her or the King/Queen. He/she will also work with the other Heralds to create and maintain guides in order to provide technical knowledge to the member-states of The Knights Radiant. The Herald of Internal Affairs can freely add sub departments, create projects, and promote staff within his/her department.
  • The Herald of Growth controls all fiscal assets of the Knights Radiant and member-states and is responsible for maintaining a banking infrastructure within the alliance and ensuring the information in econ guides remains up to date. It is the duty of this Herald to work towards the growth of The Knights Radiant and membership by developing programs and by allocating funds to aid this goal. In preparation of and during times of war, it is expected of the Herald of Growth to work with the Herald of War in regards to determining warchest levels and allocating monetary funds to member-states in need of aid. In order to accomplish his/her goals, the Herald of Growth may also create any positions or programs he/she deems necessary to fulfill his/her duties. In order to remain unbiased in the development of said growth programs, the Herald of Growth is discouraged from participating in any economic program (sans loans and rebuild aid) that would benefit him/her, regardless of whether or not the program was put in place before their appointment.
  • The Herald of Fabrials is in charge of advancing The Knights Radiant’s technological tools and databases. It is the responsibility of this Herald to work with the other departments and help develop tools to streamline their efforts and aid the alliance in running more efficiently. The Herald of Fabrials has the authority to structure his/her efforts as he/she sees fit and to promote staff to aid in his/her endeavors.
  • The Shards are Kings/Queens Emeriti that serve at the leisure of the King/Queen and are tasked with providing insight and advice to government and serving as an extra set of hands in times of need.

Low Government[]

The Low Government consists of the High Princes/Princesses of each department and the Herald of the People. The Heralds are the leaders of their respective departments, which consist of High Princes and Princesses, while the Shards are King/Queens Emeriti that serve as advisors to Royalty and High Government. Each Herald has the power to accept, expel, promote, and demote any Knight from and within their own Department or create any programs/organizational structures he/she deem necessary with the approval of the King/Queen.

  • The High Princes/Princesses are the lower government of The Knights Radiant. They are selected by the individual Heralds and with the approval of the King/Queen are appointed to help the Heralds with the day to day activities needed to efficiently and effectively run the alliance. They report to the Herald of the specific department they were selected to serve.
  • The Herald of the People is the liaison between gov and membership and will maintain low government access and act as the voice of membership in discussions. This position is the only elected position within The Knights Radiant, with elections taking place every three months. His/her primary task is to observe and listen to membership in order to feed back concerns and suggestions for improvement to government and to moderate the Palace for the People channel. The Herald of the People, along with the First Knights, are also tasked with encouraging alliance and order activity in order to inspire a greater sense of community, especially among newer members. He/she is encouraged to be active in member channels and on the forums and to organize alliance-wide events, forums polls, and other activities.
