The Black Knights is a black bloc alliance that was founded on December 12, 2014, by Yosodog and LordStrum, along with 5 others. It has been involved in most major conflicts since its creation, such as the FSA-tS War, the Great VE War, the Proxy War, Oktoberfest, the 168 Day War, the Pacific War, the Silent War, Papers, Please, Ayyslamic Crusade, NPO's Last Time, the Great Leak War, Duck Hunt, The Last Ride, Guns & Roses, Brawlywood and The Big $hort. The Black Knights also played a major role in Knightfall, claiming victory over the forces of The Knights Radiant with the help of its allies. Its official religion is Ayyslam. As of August 11th, 2022, BK is rank 16 with a score of 205,016.
The alliance abruptly disbanded, February 7, 2020 during NPO's Last Time, in protest of moderation action taken against the leadership of New Pacific Order amid the NPO Cheating Scandal. However, on February 22, 2020, original founders Yosodog and LordStrum announced that BK was back.
Establishment of the Black Knights[]
The Black Knights were established by a small group of players who had migrated from another nation-based game called Cyber Nations. These were Yosodog, Supercheese, Mr. Flubb, LordStrum, P8ntballerdude, Jaguar, and Irule777. A DoE was made a day after its establishment (along with a joke DoW on Guardian, though it was later locked). Some weeks afterward, the Black Knights became a protectorate under the Syndicate.
Growth of the Black Knights[]
Around January and February 2015, the Black Knights was a third-page small alliance (20th - 30th in alliance rank) and went through a few, quiet governmental Hail New Pacific Ordershifts. However, it then entered its first war, the FSA-tS War allied with the Syndicate and Viridian Entente against the Frontier Sort Alliance, an alliance on the yellow sphere infamous due to its general instability and frequent raids against other aligned nations.
In April 2015, the Black Knights reached the top 20 in PnW; the protectorate status of BK was removed on April 6, 2015, and an MDoAP was promptly signed between BK and the Syndicate. An MnDoAP was signed between BK and United Purple Nations on April 27.
On April 20, 2016, BK reached an alliance score of 100,000 for the first time. As of June 12, 2016, BK was the third strongest alliance score-wise, and second largest member wise. As of August 27, 2016, BK was the second strongest alliance score-wise, and largest member wise. In May 2019, BK became the second largest alliance in terms of score and members.
Black Knights Structure[]
The government of BK is a hierarchical system lead by the emperor, in which his word is law.
Emperor[]
The Emperor is the supreme leader of the Black Knights. The Emperor shall represent the Black Knights in all things and have the authority to administer and regulate all aspects of the Black Knights provided his actions do not conflict with this Charter.
Duke[]
The Dukes are second in command for their respective department, they work directly with the Department Staff and their Archduke to ensure their department is running efficiently.
Department Staff[]
Acting under the Dukes are the respected staff members for that department. Department Staff have a similar role to the Dukes, and they ensure that all work gets completed within their department and ensures it's running smoothly. They are typically recruited by either a Duke or the Archduke of that department.
Knight[]
The title of Knight is the Black Knights' title for their somewhat competent members. Members are require to go through the Academy and pass out as a Knight and are an official member of the Black Knights.
Squire[]
Squires are the recruits of the Black Knights. When a member applies to join, they are interviewed and then they join the Academy. They are trained by the Defense Staff until they are competent to reach the title of Knight.
Membership[]
Gaining Membership[]
In order for a potential member to gain full membership into the Black Knights they must go through the application process set forward by the government. Upon failure any potential applicant will be allowed to apply (1) one more time after which they will be barred from applying again. The Emperor may remove this restriction at any time.
Responsibilities of Members[]
All members of the Black Knights have the responsibility to fight for the Black Knights when at war, help when help is needed, and follow any and all rules and regulations put forward by the government.
Retaining Membership[]
All members must have an associated Politics and War nation. If a member no longer possesses a nation, they cannot retain membership in the Black Knights without approval from the Emperor.
Expulsion[]
Any member may be expelled by a majority vote between the Emperor and Royal Family.
Military[]
Knights of The Round[]
The Knight of The Round shall be appointed or removed by the Emperor or his designee. They will be comprised of the best military nations the Black Knights has to offer. There shall be at least (3) three and no more than (12) twelve members in the Knights of The Round at one time. The Emperor or his designee is given the authority to do so may choose to give them any special privileges they see fit.
Declaration of War[]
The Emperor has the sole authority to declare war on behalf of the alliance.
Procedures[]
Laws[]
Any potential law must be accepted by the Emperor before becoming a full and binding law in the Black Knights. A law can be anything as long as it doesn’t conflict with this charter. The Emperor can also remove a law at any time.
Treaties[]
The Department of Foreign Affairs works with other alliances and works with potiental treaties, however, The Emperor has the authority to ratify any potential treaty.
Amendment[]
Any potential amendment to this Charter must be submitted to the Emperor before being put to a vote. The amendment Shall require approval of no fewer than two-thirds of all voting membership within a 96 hour time frame.
